Field Officers Quarters

Field Officers QuartersThe Field Officers’ Quarters was completed in 1889. This building was a six bedroom residence occupied by a Major or higher grade officer, his family and servants.

Plans for the original buildings around this Parade Ground were prepared by Frank J. Grodavent, FAIA, a civilian architect. The Army was so pleased with the results, that Grodavent’s plans were later used to construct similar buildings at West Point; one is used today as faculty housing.
