  4. Bugle and cord used between the Spanish-American War and 1918
  5. 46 star flag used 1907-1912

in the world would keep out the
cold…

This coat has been tentatively identified as the pattern of 1877, that being the first year buffalo coats were purchased by the Quartermaster Department.

These overcoats were company property and were not issued to the men as part of their clothing allowance. They were issued to the men during harsh weather, then returned to the company storeroom.
