The Friends of Historic Fort Logan is a not-for-profit (501C3) organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of Fort Logan and its surrounding community.
The Friends organization continues efforts to restore the Field Officers’ Quarters to its 1889 building date. The exterior and interior restoration has been funded through a combination of grants and donations from generous foundations, organizations and individuals. Over the past decade, The Edmund and Eleanor Quick Foundation, The Denver Foundation and the Colorado State Historical Fund have all made major contributions to aid restoration. Individuals have donated funds and two memorial funds were used to continue restoration. Retired volunteer electricians from the IBEW and Quality Connection in Denver updated the 100-year-old electrical system in the Field Officers’ Quarters, preparing it for museum space.
Members of the Mt. Rosa Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution gave generously of their time and skills in 2017 to enhance the Field Officer’s Quarters with a World War I display as well as new curtains for many windows.
Over $385,000 has been spent over the decade to restore the building, acquire historic artifacts and present displays.
